The Recreation Department is pleased to announce the annual Winterfest will return to Coggshall Park on Saturday, February 10th from 12:00PM to 5:00 PM for its fourth year. Winterfest is a collaboration between The Fitchburg Recreation Department, Beers for Good, the Fitchburg Public Library and volunteers from the Friends of Coggshall Park. Each year we look forward to inviting local residents to this free community event to enjoy the beauty of Coggshall and engage in fun activities and events.
One of our signature annual offerings is a Story walk around Mirror Lake with a revolving theme that is both educational and relevant to the season. This year we’re featuring “No Two Alike”, by Keith Baker. Families can enjoy the story pages that lead them around scenic Mirror Lake. The Fitchburg Public Library is hosting a story time arts and crafts hour in conjunction with Winterfest. Other activities this year included a cornhole tournament, beer garden and a cardboard sled contest.
“Winterfest at Coggshall has become a yearly tradition that strengthens our community connections and creates wonderful memories for families for years to come,” says Nate LaRose, Recreation Director. “This year’s proceeds from all concessions will be donated to the Crocker PTO to support the teachers as they rebuild their classrooms.”
